Assigned BCBA will define the strengths and needs of the child in the behavior plan, compiling this data from caregiver reports, professional/therapists’ reports, direct observation, structured skills assessment, and/or functional analysis.
Meetings will include the child, child’s caregivers, Matrix Behavior Solutions team members and also invite feedback and participation from other professionals including (but not limited to) educators, childcare providers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, prescribing physicians, and community case managers. Shared goals and objectives across service professionals will be defined, and consistent interventions will be developed and reviewed.
Matrix Behavior Solutions staff providing the services will ensure that CASSP principles (child-centered, family-focused, community-based, multi-system, cultural competence, and the least restrictive/intrusive) are adhered to and incorporated within the treatment programs.
The goals of the program will be based on each child’s individual needs and may include the following: produce socially significant improvement in the child/adolescent’s behavior, promote functional skill development, prevent loss of previously acquired skills/functions, increase child/adolescent’s independence in daily routines, promote generalization of skills across settings, promote integration, and inclusion of the child/adolescent into the community.
Data will be collected on each goal on an ongoing basis. Matrix Behavior Solutions staff will analyze the data collected, visually represent the data, and review the data with the team. The data analysis will also be used to evaluate overall child's progress towards goals.
Parents and caregivers must to be available to accept transference of skills from Matrix Behavior Solutions therapist to assist the child in maintaining the newly acquired skills and progress in their natural settings.
The cultural and ethnic values of the child and family will be considered in relation to all aspects of program delivery. Clients and families will be asked to provide information regarding their cultural/ethnic values and self-identified needs.
